NTDC operates and maintains fourteen 500 KV and thirty eight 220 KV Grid Stations, 5077 km of 500 KV transmission line and 7359 km of 220 KV transmission line in Pakistan.

500KV Sheikh Muhammadi G/Station was commissioned on 08.12.1995 with 1x450MVA, 500/220KV Auto T/F Banks and Second 1x450MVA, 500/220 KV Auto T/F Bank energized on 28.02.1996. The G/Stn. is connected with Tarbela through 500 KV S/C four bundled T/Line completed on 19.11.1992.

The G/Stn. is feeding 3x160 MVA, 220/132 KV Power T/Fs installed at the said G/Stn.

Rawat grid station was commissioned at 220 KV level. Later on upgradation of 220 KV Rawat grid station to 500 KV level was completed and commissioned on 09.05.1997. 3x450 MVA, 500/200 KV Auto T/F Banks are installed at the grid station. This G/S is also feeding 1x250MVA and 2x160MVA, 220/132 KV Auto transformers.

500 KV Rawat grid station is connected to Ghazi Brotha Power House for dispersal of power from Ghazi Brotha Hydro Power Project through two Brotha - Rawat 500 KV transmission lines. It also connected with 500KV Nokhar G/S through 500kv D/C and Tarbela Power House through 500KV single circuit

500 KV Lahore (Sheikhupura) G/Stn. was completed and commissioned on 05.06.1992. 4x600MVA, 500/220KV Auto Power T/F Banks are installed at Grid Station. The G/Stn. is being fed from 500 KV Nokhar G/Station through 500 KV D/C T/Line and connected with 500 KV Gatti and Yousafwala G/Stations through 500 KV S/Cts. T/Lines. 3x160 MVA, 220/132KV Power T/Fs are being fed in the G/Stn.

For 500 KV bays as well as 220KV bays, double bus bar with one & half breaker scheme is used.

500 KV Gatti G/Stn. (Faisalabad) was completed and commissioned on 27.06.1979. 4x450MVA, 500/200KV Auto T/F Banks with four Banks of 500KV Shunt Reactors having total capacity of 3x117.8MVAR (Two Nos. bank of capacity 3x22MVAR) are installed at the G/Stn. The G/S is being fed through 500KV Muzafargarh G/S, 500KV Roush P.House, 500KV Multan G/S & 500KV Sheikhupura G/S through 500KV Single Circuits and connected with Barotha Power House through 500KV Double Circuits.

For 500 KV as well as 220 KV bays double bus bar with one & half breaker scheme is used.

500KV Nokhar Grid Station with 02 No. 600 MVA, 500/220KV Auto Transformer banks with 02 banks of 500KV Shunt Reactors (3X37MVAR each) was commissioned on 11.04.2009. 500KV Grid Station Nokhar is being fed from 500KV Grid Station Rawat through 500KV Double Circuit and connected with 500KV Grid Station Sheikhupura (Lahore) through 500KV Double Circuit.

This Grid Station is also feeding 03 No. 160MVA, 220/132KV Auto Transformers installed in the Grid Station. This Grid Station is also connected with 220KV Single Circuit Mangla Power House and 220KV Single Circuit Old Ghakhar Grid Station.

For 500KV bays one & half breaker scheme with double bus bar and for 220KV bays one & half double bus bar is used.

The 220KV Multan G/Stn., which was commissioned on 06.02.1981 has been upgraded to 500KV level with 1x450MVA, 500/220KV Auto Transformer Banks commissioned on 17.11.1986 and second 450MVA, 500/220KV Auto Transformer Banks commission on 16.12.1986. Three Nos. 500KV shunt reactor banks each of capacity 3x37.1MVAR and one No. 500KV shunt reactor bank of capacity 3x54MVAR are installed at the G/Stn. The 500 KV New Multan G/Stn. is fed from 500 KV Gatti G/Stn. through 500 KV Single Circuit. 500 KV New Multan G/Stn. is also connected through 500 KV T/Lines with 500 KV Muzaffargarh, Yousafwala and Private Power Station Rouch though Single Circuits and 500KV Guddu through Double Circuits.

For 500KV bays one & half breaker scheme with double bus bar and for 220 KV base double bus bar is used.

The existing 200KV Muzaffar Garh G/Stn. has been upgraded to 500KV level for the dispersal of Power generated (1370MW) at Muzaffar Garh Thermal Power Station and an IPP, AES Lal Pir Units. The 500KV Muzaffar Garh G/Stn. with 2x600MVA, 500/220KV and 3x37MVAR, 500KV Shunt Reactor Bank, was commenced on July 12, 1997 and commissioned on 26th March 2000 IN & OUT arrangement at Muzaffar Garh from 500 KV circuit No. 2 between Multan & Guddu 500 KV T/Line and also connected with 500KV Multan G/S through 500KV Multan - M/Garh single circuit.

For 500KV bays one & half breaker scheme and for 220 KV bays double bus bar with single breaker scheme is used.

220KV Sahiwal Grid Station was commissioned on 20.08.1987 has been upgraded to 500KV capacity with 2X600MVA, 500/220KV Auto Transformers banks with two banks of 500KV shunt reactor (capacity of each bank 3X37MVAR) was commissioned on 07.08.2006. 500KV Sahiwal Grid Station is being fed from 500KV Grid Station Multan though 500KV single circuit and is connected with 500KV Sheikhupura (Lahore) through 500KV single circuit.

This Grid Station is also feeding 04 No. 160MVA, 220/132KV Auto Transformer installed in the Grid Station. For 500KV bays as well as 220KV bays double bus bar with one & half breaker scheme is used.

500KV Guddu G/Stn. was commissioned with 1 x 450 MVA, 500/220KV. Auto T/F banks on 16.12.1986. The 2nd 450MVA, 500/220KV Auto T/F bank was commissioned on 21.02.1987 and 3rd 450MVA, 500/220KV Auto T/F bank was commission during 12/98. 500KV Guddu G/Stn. is connected with new 500KV Multan G/Stn. through 03 Nos. 500KV S/C T/Lines. 500KV Muzaffar Garh G/Stn has been made In/Out from one circuit (No.1) of 500KV S/C, Guddu-Multan T/Line. The G/Stn. is also connected with 500KV Dadu Grid Station through 02 Nos. S/C T/Lines. For 500KV G/Stn. double bus bar with one & half breaker scheme is used.

500KV Dadu G/Stn. with 1X450 MVA, 500/220KV auto transformer bank with four banks of 500KV shunt reactors (2 banks of Capacity 3x37MVAR each & 2 Banks of Capacity 3x22MVAR each) (was commissioned on 08.09.1993. 500KV Dadu G/Stn. is being fed from Guddu Power House through two 500 KV S/C and connected with 500 KV Jamshoro & 500 KV Guddu G/Stations through two 500 KV Single Circuits.

This G/Stn. is also feeding one No. 160MVA, 220/132KV Power T/F installed in the G/Stn. For 500 KV bays as well as 220KV bays, double bus bar with one & half breaker scheme is used.

500KV Jamshoro G/Stn. with 2x450MVA, 500/220KV Auto T/F Bank is commissioned during 1987-88. Four banks of 500KV shunt reactors each of capacity 22x3MVAR is installed at the G/Stn. The G/Stn. is being fed through two 500KV S/Cts. from 500 KV Dadu G/Stn. and connected with HUBCO (IPP) through one 500KV S/C and In & Out arrangement at NKI Grid Station. This G/Stn. is also feeding 2x160MVA, 220/132 Auto T/Fs installed at the G/Stn.

For 500KV as well as for 220KV bays double bus bar with one & half breaker scheme is used.

500KV Grid Station NKI with 600MVA, 500/220KV Auto Transformer banks was commissioned on 05.05.2006. 500KV NKI Grid Station is being fed from 500KV HUBCO Power House through 500KV single circuit and connected with 500KV Jamshoro Grid Station through 500KV single circuit.

For 500KV bays as well as 220KV bays Ring Main Scheme is used.
